Tea Trivia - Darjeeling, The Champagne of Tea
Posted by Kimiko URIU on April 14, 2011 (0 Comments)
Darjeeling is often referred to as the "Champagne of Tea". Like Champagne it is a luxury product and is sold at high prices.
The Darjeeling region of India lies on the southern slopes of the Himalayan Mountains. The slopes are very steep with an abundance of sunshine but a cool climate. Due to the special conditions the tea grows in, the tea has a very distinct and unique flavour and is impossible to replicate anywhere else in the world.
