27 March 2011 - Japan Relief Charity Event
In an effort to contribute to the relief effort, the Japan Exchange and Teaching Programme Alumni Association of Ottawa (JETAA Ottawa) is partnering with the Canada-Japan Society of Ottawa (CJSO) to organize an Ottawa-wide Japan Relief Charity event that would bring together the Japanese community as well as the community at large. Kimicha offered high qualities teas for the auction. Proceeds from the event, which includes a silent auction, will be donated to the Canadian Red Cross Japan Earthquake/Asia-Pacific Tsunami fund. $21,000 were raised in the silent auction and $35,000 in total! We are happy that the event went so well.
12 March 2011 - Tea Tasting and Fundraiser for the Earth State Organisation
Tea tasting event where some of the rare and exquisite teas like the Jin Jun Mei, as well as Matcha and Gyokuro were tried, as well as funds were raised for the Earth State Organisation. Due to the efforts of the Earth State Organisation project, they were able to raise $800 in funds and went to the non profit organisation Sustainable Cities. Communities in South Africa, China, Sri Lanka, Brazil and Mexico will benefit from our joint efforts and this contribution will foster a long-term solution in building sustainable communities.
