Jin Jun Mei - Winner of the North American Tea Championship
Winner of Black Teas in the North American Tea Championship!
Jun Mei means "beautiful eyebrow" in English.
Unlike other teas, this exquisite tea can be steeped 7 times and will not get bitter or unpleasant. Notice the delicious peak at the third steep.
This is one of the most exquisite black teas from China. What is special about it is that unlike normal Lapsang Souchong teas, the tea leaves and buds are hand-plucked in early spring, producing only limited quantities, and are grown in the remote Wuyi Mountains - its beautiful, natural landscape provides ideal growing conditions. You will notice that this tea has a natural sweetness, which is different from any other black tea.
Net Weight: 30g
Aroma: (when dry) raisin bread, (when wet) honey notes
Liquor: clear reddish-brown
Taste: complex, hint of sweetness, notes of honey and fruit, delicately floral and woodsy
Tea Leaves: 1 tsp
Brewing Time: 2-3 minutes
Delicious all day and after a great meal. Using slightly cooler water (90°C) helps bring out the sweetness of the tea.
